Ethical Seafood Research (ESR) partners with governments, universities, NGOs, and industry players to improve aquatic animal welfare and create sustainable seafood systems worldwide.1. Egypt Tilapia Welfare Initiative
Collaborating with FAI and AQUAVET Egypt, ESR launched a Tilapia Welfare App and provided training to farmers.
This project covered over 260 million fish, covering about 15% of Egypt’s tilapia sector.2. Kenya Inland Aquaculture Assessment
Conducted in-depth reviews of pond-based aquaculture in Kenya exposing welfare, sustainability, and health gaps in the sector to inform improvements3. Zanzibar Blue Economy Project
Assisting the development of local hatcheries and affordable feed systems aiming to scale environmentally and economically sustainable finfish farming4. Tanzania Cage Aquaculture Pilot (Lake Tanganyika)
